The Worthington had at least four crew members - the captain, a doctor named Smith, and two other crewmen, Jacob and his biotic girlfriend Julia - though the crew quarters have room for more than twenty. As this is an alternate timeline, the characters familiar to the reader from the Mass Effect trilogy (and maybe even Andromeda) have all been born exactly 32 years earlier than they were in the games, in order to fit the precise timeframe. The oldest of the Citadel races, Asari are a beautiful (by just about all Citadel species standards) mono-gendered race of humanoids with skin tones in widely varying shades of blue and faces with ridges that resembles a starfish or squid. Dahlia had chosen to lead a gang of pirate slavers and threatened to reveal her existence to the public. The Armali Council is an affiliation of asari manufacturing guilds recognized for maintaining consistent standards of excellence. Her group specializes in slaving, and includes humans, turians, salarians and krogan, operating out of a stronghold on Sharjila. Barely explored and mostly frontier, mercenary groups and pirates operate within the cluster, as well as Alliance recon and suppression efforts.
